I am not sure where to start this post: I have so many great memories and pictures its hard to condense them down in to something meaningful.
This was an epic journey with a wonderful bunch of people that fortunately culminated in all of us reaching the summit at 7:30am on Sunday 5th February.
The Lemosho route was a brilliant choice as it gave us all good opportunity to acclimatise and afforded us a 360 degree view of Kili as we trekked around it.
Day 1 Monday 30th January: Lemosho Gate 2,424m to Forest Camp 2,821m. Distance 5.4km

From an 8 am pick up, we drove from the hotel in Arusha to Lemosho Gate Start Point at 2424m which took a few hours. We caught sight of a herd of Zebra along the way – welcome to Africa! We had to sign in at the gate and weigh everything as the porters are strictly limited to carrying 25kg each (15kg of our gear, 5kg of their own and 5kg camp gear). To see these guys carry this stuff and charge up the mountain was incredible.
We had a packed lunch and then headed off through the rain forest to Forest Camp at 2821m, a distance of 5.4km and caught sight of some Columbus Monkey in the trees. On arrival the porters had everything set up – our first night in camp.
